Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW)

Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW) works to end human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of women and children worldwide. CATW is the world's first organization to fight human trafficking internationally and is the world's leading abolitionist organization. A unique strength of CATW is that we engage in advocacy, education, victim services and prevention programs for victims of trafficking and prostitution in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and North America, including in the United States. Since 1988, CATW has provided widely recognized leadership in promoting legislative, policy and educational measures to raise awareness about the root causes of human trafficking.

World Central Kitchen

World Central Kitchen is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Founded in 2010 by celebrity chef José Andrés, the organization prepared food in Haiti following its devastating earthquake.

We are facing an unprecedented emergency, unlike anything this country has experienced. Beyond the health impacts of the COVID-19 coronavirus, our economy has ground to a halt — schools and businesses are closed, travel is restricted, and restaurants face an uncertain future. Traditional safety nets like school feeding programs, childcare services, and senior centers are struggling to stay open.

The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV)

We envision a national culture in which we are all safe, empowered and free from domestic violence.

Our mission is to lead, mobilize and raise our voices to support efforts that demand a change of conditions that lead to domestic violence such as patriarchy, privilege, racism, sexism, and classism. We are dedicated to supporting survivors and holding offenders accountable and supporting advocates.

The NCADV Public Policy Office collaborates with other national organizations to promote legislation and policies that serve and protect victims and survivors of domestic violence, and we work to change the narrative surrounding domestic violence.

We seek macro-level change in order to create a society in which domestic violence is never tolerated or minimized, in which victims and survivors are respected, and in which service providers have the resources to serve all victims and survivors.

In turn, we rely on our members and our partners’ members to provide grassroots support, contacting their congressional delegations and making their voices heard at the local level.

One of the most common reasons victims of domestic violence either stay with or return to an abuser is because they fear they will be unable to provide financially for themselves and or their children. In  collaboration with the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE), NCADV hosts financial education webinars to educate victims and survivors about rebuilding financially after domestic violence.

The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence, the Alliance for Gun Responsibility Foundation, and the Prosecutors Against Gun Violence have teamed up to launch a new initiative: Disarm Domestic Violence.

The Disarm Domestic Violence website, due to launch in October 2018, will allow advocates, gun violence prevention activists, survivors, victims, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and so many others to research state-specific laws on domestic violence-related protective order firearm removals and take steps to remove guns from armed abusers.

Union of Concerned Scientists

The Union of Concerned Scientists is a national nonprofit organization founded more than 50 years ago by scientists and students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Our mission: to use rigorous, independent science to solve our planet's most pressing problems. Joining with people across the country, we combine technical analysis and effective advocacy to create innovative, practical solutions for a healthy, safe, and sustainable future.

Today, we are a group of nearly 250 scientists, analysts, policy and communication experts. Our founders knew science and evidence-based decision making was critical to solving many of the biggest challenges facing humankind. To make progress we would need to work persistently in the face of often daunting odds. That's just what we’ve done.

  • We combat climate change and seek to alleviate harm caused by the heat, sea level rise, and other consequences of runaway emissions,
  • We strive to develop sustainable ways to feed, power and transport ourselves,
  • We work to reduce the existential threat of nuclear war.
  • We fight back when powerful corporations or special interests mislead the public on science.
  • We ensure our solutions advance racial and economic equity.
