A Season in Bloom

A Season in Bloom

How fortunate am I to be able to work this season when flowers are all the rage for so many designers!!  Nothing inspires me more this time of year as I watch peonies slowly begin to bloom into layers upon layers of lace, the ombre of ranunculus, tulips and daffodils look to the sun as though they’re kissing the sky.

Similar colors can be found in the many of the gemstones I work with such as pink sapphires, citrines, and rubies.  There are stones that have natural gradients like hessonite garnets that begin in with the palest of yellows to the darkest of amber.  Oh, and I should not leave out one of my favorites, multi tourmalines! There’s sure to be at least one of your favorite colors somewhere along the strand of these gorgeous gems. They remind me of a garden in full bloom.  Blush, the softest pink of a rose petal and bright pink like freesias. The pale celadon of hellebores, the bright greens of chrysanthemum to the deep hunter green of an ivy vine. Sun-kissed gold of a gerber daisy, stormy blues and grays of hydrangeas. Finally the midnight black that you see inside of a purple anemone. How glorious is mother nature to have cast these colors onto flowers and gems that spring from the earth!

Follow my designs in the upcoming months to see how these  beautiful colors inspire me to make a bouquet out of gems.
