Breathe Autumn Rain: An Ethos of Organic Living and Integrity

I design jewelry as a vessel for the quietude of the soul, far beyond a collection of accessories meant to chase trends. My designs pay respect to a state of perpetual, uninterrupted flow, highlighting the beauty of an uncluttered space. My admiration of the vibrancy of hand-cut gemstones, my work is handcrafted for those who find profound meaning in nothingness, imperfection, and timelessness. I create for those who find solace in the pause, who embrace the beauty of a weathered edge, and who understand that art is a living dialogue between  material and the spirit.

Honoring Japanese Design Principles

At the heart of Breathe Autumn Rain lies Wabi-Sabi (侘寂), the acceptance of transience and the discovery of beauty in the imperfect. Deserée’s process is a meditation on Kanso (簡素), stripping away the superfluous to reveal the essential character of a stone. The work strives for Shizen (自然), ensuring each piece feels as though it were born from the earth rather than manufactured. Through Fukinsei (不均整), the artist embraces the balanced asymmetry of nature, allowing the nothingness of Ma (間) to give each design room to breathe. This is the path of Shibumi (渋い), an understated elegance that whispers rather than shouts. 

Design with integrity extends beyond the workbench; it is a commitment to the collective. Deserée’s continued activism fighting for human rights, universal healthcare, and the preservation of public lands is an extension of Seijaku (静寂). It is the pursuit of restorative calm and justice in a chaotic world. The artist believes that a better human is made one intentional day at a time, through actions that honor the interconnectedness of all living things. When the water, the soil, and each other are protected, it is a practice of the ultimate form of organic design.
